Japanese pop bar and eatery Akiba has entered the International Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.

The restaurant was designed by Melbourne architect Adam Dettrick and was entered in the Australia and restaurant category, alongside Billy Kwong and Coogee Pavilion.

Entries closed in late April and the shortlist will be announced in June. Winners will be unveiled in October.
