Award-winning maitre d' returns to Melbourne

Award-winning maitre d' Chris Young has returned to the Melbourne scene from China, taking up the post of general manager at Collingwood's Gorski & Jones. Winner of The Age Good Food Guide 2010 professional service award during his tenure at Jacques Reymond, Young most recently spent three years at the PuLi Hotel in Shanghai. Co-owner of the Smith Street venue Meaghan Gorski says: ''Chris will be looking after all operational and front-of-house aspects and we are thrilled to have his skill, professionalism and delightful wit with us.'' Gorski and business partners Paul and Linda Jones have taken over the space next door, formerly Noodle Box, with a concept still being developed.
