With everyone from UK chef Jason Atherton and alumni of Noma and Momofuku opening restaurants in Chippendale, is chef Morgan McGlone set to follow them?

McGlone says he's considering the Kensington Street development in Chippendale for a Sydney branch of Belle's Hot Chicken, the Nashville-style fried chicken joint he opened earlier this year in Melbourne.

"About 55 per cent of our market in Melbourne is Asian, they love fried chicken. And there is a high Asian population around Chippendale," he says.

McGlone is keen to open in Sydney, having previously operated Flinders Inn here.

McGlone isn't the only one eyeing Chippendale, Biota's James Viles is also keen to open a botanical-based bar in the suburb.
