Norton St Grocer at Bondi Junction closed this week, reopening after a major mid-year renovation as the newest outlet from rapidly expanding Harris Farm Markets. Last October Good Food flagged Harris Farm was circling Norton St Grocer with a view to acquiring it and over the weekend the deal was finally completed.

Harris Farm Markets' co-CEO Tristan Harris confirmed Norton Street's iconic Leichhardt store won't be touched for the time being. "We're leaving Leichhardt just as it is. They have a great connection with their customers, and we want to learn more about the business," he says.

Harris Farm Markets' existing Bondi Junction store at Eastgate will be retained, Harris confirmed. "The new store at Bondi Junction will be similar to our new [Harris Farm] in Drummoyne, with the exception that it has a fish shop and butcher next to it," he says. He also confirmed an element of the sliced-to-order deli section is also part of the plans at Bondi Junction. "One of the things we were most interested in with Norton St Grocer was the deli. We're keen to learn all we can from them."
