We've got Mexican and Argentinian eateries and we're exploring Peruvian, so how about giving Brazilian a go? Viva Brazil is a churrascaria (barbecue steakhouse) and Brazilian barbecue that has just opened in Prahran.

Owners Jaf Siddiqi and Ian Coffey have brought their concept to Australia after opening three successful outlets in Britain. Coffey emigrated to Melbourne 18 months ago and saw a gap in the market.

They engaged the director of wine at Crown, Chris Crawford, to create the drinks list, and a barbecue chef from Brazil to source local meats. The menu includes 16 cuts of beef, lamb, pork and chicken, carved at the table. Seafood and vegetarian dishes are also available.

Open daily from 11.30am, 201 High Street, Prahran, 8527 8222
