Parramatta continues to nab more city-centric restaurateurs to the west, with Simon Goh and Neil Perry the latest confirmed starters in the postcode.

Perry will kickstart a Burger Project outlet in Parramatta ["just near Jamie's Italian", he says], while Chinta Ria's Simon Goh will open at EcoWorld's West Village where Salt Meats Cheese will also be a tenant.

Goh hasn't decided whether he'll bring the giant Buddha he has had in storage since closing Chinta Ria at Cockle Bay.

Music, he maintains, will play a major part in the design and direction of the Parramatta restaurant.

"When I opened at Cockle Bay I was playing a lot of mediation music, that's why it was called Chinta Ria: The Temple of Love. At Westfield [Sydney] it was a lot of jazz. Parramatta will be Creedence Clearwater Revival," Goh says.

He maintains Parramatta also makes business sense: "A lot of our customers at Chinta Ria were from the west."
