The owners of Macleay Street Bistro are purchasing the Pinbone restaurant site in Woollahra, with plans to reopen it under its former name, Buzo.

"Yes, contracts have been exchanged," restaurant broker Michael Fischer confirmed. Fischer didn't disclose the settlement date, but with Pinbone closing August 2 most expect a spring relaunch of the site.

Last month Good Food revealed restaurateurs James Hird, Todd Garratt and Traci Trinder had sold their Woollahra ventures Wine Library and Vincent, with Pinbone poised to follow.

The trio has been in long negotiations with the owners of Macleay Street Bistro, who are keen to keep the Buzo moniker, the name of the successful Italian restaurant the trio operated at the site before rebooting it as Pinbone, with a new team running it. Fischer directed inquiries to Macleay Street Bistro's owners, Mark Campbell and Phillip Fikkers.

They weren't immediately available for comment as both are overseas.
