The Canberra Food and Wine Expo is on this weekend at the National Convention Centre with wineries, food producers and gourmet stalls all showing their wares.

There will also be a contingent of former MasterChef contestants on the stage putting on demonstrations, including homegrown talent Rishi Desai who flew the flag for Queanbeyan and Canberra in 2013.

MasterChef 2012 alumni Ben Milbourne has also designed a special degustation menu for dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday and Sunday – and will join guests for the meal to talk about the food and the matched wines.

The menu includes a kingfish sashimi with romesco salsa, slow-roasted pork belly with chipotle cothido and salsa verde and an apple and berry crumble with white chocolate patissiere and blueberry cream.
