Two dining adventures this month will help raise funds for cancer research. The Cancer Council Victoria's Biggest Morning Tea fund-raising campaign is 20 years old this year and the annual event is on Thursday, May 23. Participants are asked to put the kettle on and share a cuppa to raise money to help the 78 Victorians who are diagnosed with cancer every day. Since it began, the Biggest Morning Tea has raised more than $20 million. To register an event, text ''tea'' to 0400 867 867, see biggestmorningtea.com.au or phone 1300 656 585.

The Cure Cancer Australia Foundation and Fitzroy restaurant Cutler & Co are holding the World's Best BYO dinner on May 27. This event has been held in Sydney for almost a decade and the first Melbourne dinner was held last year at Cutler & Co. Guests are asked to bring favourite wines from their cellars, for some of the state's top sommeliers to pour, including Ainslie Lubbock from Pei Modern, Thomas Hogan from Lake House and Banjo Harris Plane from Attica. Wine aficionado Stuart Gregor will run an auction and there will be prizes for the people who bring the best sparkling, white and red wine on the night. Tickets are $1000 a head, and tables of eight to 12 are available. To book, contact Jo Gilbert at Cure Cancer Australia on 1300 134 567 or email jgilbert@curecancer.org.au
