CBD retail development Emporium Melbourne opened in a blaze of publicity last month. Now, the next round of food outlets is about to open.

Made Establishment Group's souvlaki joint, Jimmy Grants, opened last week, and THR1VE, based on the popular Paleo Diet, opens in the next few weeks.

The team behind Dainty Sichuan is planning a scaled-down noodle offshoot, but won't confirm when it will open.

And restaurateur Paul Mathis, who has kept a low profile since selling Goldilocks and Firechief in Hawthorn and Dockland's BangPop and Akachochin, is collaborating with former business partner George Incretolli on Supercharger Wholefood, an outlet based on ''superfoods with a strong vegetable emphasis'', and Bar Napoli, a simple Italian place with eight pizzas, eight pizzettes and eight pastas on the menu.

Mathis and Incretolli, who owned popular cafes Blue Train and Automatic in the '90s, will open their new nosheries in the next couple of months.
