When Glebe's Restaurant Atelier closed its doors last New Year's Eve, the future of its chef-owner Darren Templeman was up in the air. And up in the air Templeman remains; the chef is signing on as head chef at Michael Moore's revolving O Bar and Dining atop Australia Square.

"I ate at Atelier a few times and I reckon Darren is one of the most underrated chefs in the country," Moore says of his new recruit.

After biding his time this year with pop-up ventures, Moore says Templeman relished the idea of not having to run a restaurant: "He said he just wants to cook."

So how will it impact O Bar and Dining? Located in the heart of the CBD, the high-altitude revolver might be a long way from rural acreage, but Moore says Templeman's "farm to table" approach will be writ large on the O B & D menu.
