David Chang's 'ramlet': when eggs and ramen combine

Ramen burger, cronut, and now 'ramlet'. New York-based Momofuku chef Dave Chang has added an omelet/ramen crossover to the growing gastronomique of "frankenfoods".

There's no actual instant ramen in this eggy amalgamation though, only the delicious MSG-heavy seasoning sachets. In a video released last on Chang's LuckyPeachTV YouTube channel, Chang simply beats three eggs with a ramen sachet and frys up an omelet.

"It you don't have to add salt because [the seasoning] is basically just salt," says Chang in the video.

It's a "why didn't I think of that?" creation for all time.

The 'ramlet' is folded, slit down the middle, and filled with scrambled eggs that have also been seasoned with a ramen sachet. Sprinkled with white pepper, Chang says it tastes "f--king awesome."

No word on the ramen brand Chang pilfers the seasoning sachet from. It could well be any of these or one of the thousands of varieties available worldwide. Also no recommendations on what to do with all those, poor sachet-less instant noodles. Who wants to eat plain instant noodles?

If you have any other ideas for how to use ramen seasoning, what to do with the leftover noodles, or even just your favourite noodle brand, we would love to hear from you in the comments below.
