Sounds like there's a looming opportunity for a Sydney landlord, with David Thompson confirming a Sydney restaurant is on his radar.

Thompson, who rose to fame at Darley Street Thai, before relocating to Asia and propelling Nahm restaurant to global fame, has been spotted scouting locations in the city.

"I'd love to do something in Sydney, a Long Chim [his street food restaurant opening in Singapore in later this year] or something of its ilk. I had a sniff around [Sydney] … seeing a few properties we crunched some numbers," he says.

He says a good deal is needed to get it over the line.
