Nahm chef David Thompson's restaurant return to Sydney is edging closer, with a CBD site tipped for his Long Chim restaurant. A basement space with potential access to Angel Place is shaping up as the frontrunner for Long Chim's long-awaited Sydney home.

Thompson, who was in Sydney last week, told Good Food he was looking for sites, but hosed down speculation that anyone had recently looked at real estate on his behalf. The chef didn't comment on specific locations for his Thai street food restaurant, but Angel Place is prime turf, close to China Lane, Felix and the soon-to-open Mercado.

Thompson confirmed Long Chim would open in Perth in November, following its successful Singapore launch in March.
