Sustainable seafood is a whale of a subject - haha - so check out Sustainable Table's inaugural Give a Fork fundraiser (October 7-14).

This year's participants are asked to host a sustainable seafood dinner party where their guests donate the money they would usually spend on a night out.

If you're not into cooking for a group, participating restaurants include Lamaro's, South Melbourne; Longrain, city; and Union Dining in Richmond.

If you sign up, you receive a host kit, recipe e-book and some know-how on how to tackle sustainable seafood. All money raised goes to The Sustainable Table. sustainabletable.org.au
