Dumplings to the rescue

Two misses of hospitality, Miss Pearls, co-owner of city bar Madame Brussels, and Nahji Chu, self-confessed Queen of Rice Paper Rolls and owner of Miss Chu outlets, have collaborated to extend the Madame Brussels menu with Miss Chu dumplings. "The offering is exclusive to us outside of the Miss Chu cafes," says Miss Pearls, who had been thinking of how to work with her best friend for a while.

The move will also help promote the Dumplings not Detention campaign that Chu - who arrived in Australia as a refugee from Laos in 1979 - started in June when she was appointed an ambassador for Refugee Week. The campaign highlights the plight of refugees worldwide.

Madame Brussels will be offering the dumplings to her guests from mid-July.
