Eastern hotel takes a new direction

The Eastern, the hotel next to Westfield Bondi Junction, had a hit with its El Topo Mexican restaurant after a couple of fallen souffles on its top floor.

Now the pub is slated to give its other levels a makeover, starting in July.

It will reopen with a Greek-influenced restaurant, Anatoli, and Chimmi's, a South American street-style bar serving empanadas and arepas.
