Would you like a Freddie Fittler with your espresso?

Retired rugby league great Brad ‘‘Freddie’’ Fittler was the surprise listing as co-director of Bill & Toni’s Pty Ltd, a company registered in July that Short Black stumbled on while researching the sale of the East Sydney café, eventually purchased by businessman Robert Domabyl.

Real estate agent James Dack, listed as a director alongside Fittler, explains they registered the company during their failed play to acquire Bill & Toni’s earlier this year.

‘‘We wanted to help out [long-term] owner Dominic Zucaro. Brad was going to come in as a partner in the business. He has a sporting profile and Dominic cooks a good schnitzel, so we registered it with the view we’d run it under that name.’’
