The Darlinghurst cafe that closed in August after its owner refused to hire a black barista reopened yesterday with new owners and, not surprisingly, a new name. Forbes & Burton, which was bombarded with critics after the story went viral, has reopened as The Rusty Rabbit. Jamesray Khoury says he and his brother Joshua "saw it on the news and [spotted] an opportunity". So they snapped up the site. Both siblings have worked in restaurants and cafes, their opening menu taking in the usual suspects of cafe menus as well as mini brioche lamb sliders and honey glazed carrots. They have something very different in mind for the floor, with plans for a series of artists in residence. "We'd also like to open for dinner later on," Khoury adds.
