Former Pier head chef poised for Bali venture

Bali culinary coups continue, with former Pier head chef Steven Skelly confirming he is poised to move to the holiday island.

Bali's rise in the food stakes has seen a posse of Sydney's kitchen talent relocate there, with a number of local restaurateurs recently joining the party.

"It's still a bit up in the air, but I can confirm I'm looking at it [Bali]. I'm committed to the project" he says. Short Black understands the ''project'' is a restaurant in a boutique hotel.

A big talent in the kitchen, Skelly stayed on when Pier took a more casual turn and reopened as The Sailors Club, but recently departed the Rose Bay eatery.
