With his revamped Four in Hand Dining Room in Paddington recently reopening (with new dishes such as liquorice poached quince with parsnip ice-cream) and Guillaume Brahimi about to open around the corner, you might expect to find chef Colin Fassnidge toiling away in the kitchen rather than back in his native Ireland playing vigilante.

Fassnidge has created headlines in Ireland after completing a citizen's arrest.

We tracked him down in his homeland, where he travelled to attend a christening. After discovering his car had been broken into and a bag taken, Fassnidge ended up chasing "six guys" in possession of the bag "through a river, over back walls of houses for three kilometres in a suit".

After finally picking off a presumably slow member of the gang, he turned the offender in at a local police station.

The amusing chef, already a staple on our small screens on My Kitchen Rules, intends pitching himself to the Seven Network for a spin-off, My Arrest Rules.

No doubt he'll perform his own stunts.
