Geelong's long-running fruit and veg market changes hands

After 34 years under the management of the Gangemi-Luca family, Geelong's V&R Fruit and Vegetable Market has changed hands. The new owners, Brett Williams and Steve Palamara, have a wealth of experience, having worked together on the Mornington Peninsula for more than 21 years, with Palamara's family also operating Mt Eliza Village Fruits. Along with a broad range of fresh produce, oils, spices, artisan cheeses and fresh flowers, they are planning to open a butchery, deli and a coffee shop. V&R Fruit and Vegetable Market, 5 Pakington Street, Geelong West. Phone 5222 2522.
