No more queues. No more bumping elbows in tight, busy spaces. No more sticky gelato melting down your arm onto the street: Messina is now delivering to your door.
After three years of research and development with delivery service partner Suppertime, the gelato giants decided it was finally the right time to launch the store-to-door service. Deliveries will come from four of Messina's Sydney gelaterias (Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, Bondi and The Star) and its three Melbourne locations in Fitzroy, Richmond and Windsor (although delivery service for the latter won't be active for another couple of weeks).
If you live within range of these, a tub of Robert Brownie Jr could be all yours tonight.

"We wanted to be able to pack to order," says Sian Bishop, Messina content and brand manager. "When people are ordering Messina, we want them to be able to choose their favourite flavours and choose the specials that are in that week."
If you're worried about the affect heat exposure can have on gelato, fear not. Messina are confident your salted caramel and white chocolate will be delivered perfectly frozen. "Our containers keep the product cool for around 45 to 60 minutes," Bishop says. "And Suppertime have a fleet of bikes so it's quick and easy to deliver."
"On average, the amount of time that it takes us to get from the restaurant or from the store to the customer is around 10 minutes," says Suppertime co-founder David Berger. ''We've all queued longer for that for Messina!"
Offerings include Messina's permanent flavours, daily specials and most of their cakes ("except for the really delicate ones," says Bishop). Suppertime also has a 'Team Orders' function which should come in especially useful when putting in those big office orders.
