Gourmet hot dog bar to open

They've been talking about a second venue for a while now, but new sibling to Brad and Angelica Jolly's upmarket riverside venue Alchemy might come as a bit of a surprise. The Jollys have swapped corporate for "street" with their newest venture- "G Doggz" - an upmarket gourmet hot dog bar in Fortitude Valley.

“Gourmet hot dogs are going nuts in the States and other countries," says Angelica Jolly (who originally hails from New York), “and we think there's a growing market for good fast food in the Valley, especially late at night."

In fact, you'll be able to get a takeaway "dogg" until 3am, she says. There's also a dine-in option until 11pm, but expect more than your usual frankfurter on a soft bun, Jolly says. The sausages are being made by an artisan butcher, there'll be a speciality fries menu, a few "surprise" desserts and cocktails including the house special made with gin, ginger, chilli and lime. Keeping an eye on the floor is Simon Schaumberger who comes from Alchemy via (appropriately) Frankfurt. Jolly says G Doggz Gourmet Hotdogs will start dishing up from April 19.

G Doggz will be at 356 Brunswick Street.
