Long-awaited: chef David Allison's city restaurant.

Already a year overdue, chef David Allison's long-awaited city restaurant Gramercy has pushed its opening date back to 2015.

Allison says heritage issues slowed his progress at the George Street site. While he is already using the premises for corporate events, building work to transform it into a restaurant and bar won't kick off until next February at the earliest.

On George Street, at the gateway to the Ash Street and Angel Place hub where Felix and China Lane operate, the area has another overdue birth.

The latest project from the team at Fratelli Paradiso, Potts Point, was slated to open near Felix late last year. It now looks set to open its doors in June.
