Green light for Gigibaba site

Emily Pullen, co-owner of Northcote's Next Door Diner, will be Adam Liston's front-of-house manager when he opens Northern Light on the site of the former Gigibaba, mid-January.

The highly regarded Pullen was most recently at East Melbourne's GG. Liston took possession of the Smith Street site on Friday; he told Espresso that landlord Andrew Mavroudis ran Gigibaba for three months with the sous chef after Ismail Tosun's Baba Holdings was placed into liquidation earlier this year. The new bar-eatery, a co-production with Liston's wife Genevieve and Glen Bagnara (ex-Chester White), will float a menu of 20 dishes, all the same size.
