Hold the butter

Brisbane's second "paleo" cafe will open in Paddington in October. The first, Primal Pantry, opened in Teneriffe last week. The Paleo Cafe Paddington is a franchise of a cafe of the same name in Cairns, believed to be the country's first all-paleo cafe. Adherents of the lifestyle believe in going back to basics, with a diet based on protein, fruit and vegetables and eschewing grains, sugar or dairy. Paleo Cafe Paddington's owner, Jackie-lou Astill, says the cafe, which is taking over two retail spaces on Given Terrace, will seat 70 to 80. “We haven't even opened yet but the response has been phenomenal. We already have almost 2000 followers on Facebook, all very keen to know when we're going to be up and running.” The Paleo Cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch with Astill saying they are looking for chefs with an interest in health. Could be a tough call.
