While My Kitchen Rules is back on the air and experiencing big traffic, the same can't be said for host Manu Feildel's Paddington restaurant, L'etoile.

The restaurant's phone message says the Five Ways restaurant was supposed to reopen last week but no sign as yet. Feildel has announced his intentions with a Melbourne restaurant and L'etoile was placed on the market late last year.

Feildel's business partner Yannick Besnard didn't return calls and the restaurant's customers are keen to know what's happening. One rumour had Mad Pizza's Tristan Hope trying to do a deal to open at the property.

"It'd certainly make a great Mad Pizza, but I can't really say anything at this stage," Hope says.

Paddington is set for some new blood this year with Guillaume Brahimi and Justin Hemmes both opening restaurants.
