Ivanhoe opening boosts Manly rejuvenation

Manly's regeneration has moved up a gear in recent years, with the opening of restaurants such as China Beach and Hugos Bar Pizza.

Now the second stage of the area's regeneration has kicked in, with the Ivanhoe Hotel on The Corso reopening late next week.

The Ivanhoe boasts an impressive launch team, including Paul Kelly, Lothar Winkler and Grant Collins. Kelly most recently worked on the redesign of The Bourbon at Kings Cross, Winkler made his name at the InterContinental Hotel before opening Lothar's and Bit Brasserie, and Collins is behind many high-profile Sydney bar launches.

Sibella Court, who contributed to the Mr Wong design, has done the interiors for the Ivanhoe's second floor, with natural timbers, lush greenery and hanging lobster pots featuring.

In a sign that times are changing for traditional Aussie pubs, the owners have moved the TAB facilities and sports bar to a neighbouring building.
