Little Bay, just south of Maroubra, isn't exactly rich in entrants in The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide, so the opening of Graeme Jones's restaurant in the eastern Sydney suburb is promising news.

Jones, who made a name for himself at the once high-flying Bouillon restaurant in the city, says he literally swung his way into the deal.

''I live in Maroubra and I play golf at The Coast, so when the opportunity to open a restaurant at the club came up, I heard about it,'' he says.

Jones's restaurant menu already includes a salad of heirloom tomatoes, baby beets, goat's curd and basil, and mains such as confit organic chicken.

''I'm going to put a snapper pie on the menu as well,'' he says.
