Get your Google Maps out – there's a new northside craft beer venue so off-the-grid, even locals are having trouble finding it.

After years of using their old garage as an unofficial clubhouse for staff knock-off drinks, the crew behind Thornbury's 3 Ravens Brewery recently decided to tart the space up and throw the roller door open to the public.

The cosy bunker is part craft beer frat house, part mate's back shed; with the brewing happening mere feet away from taps, the beer's about as fresh as you'll get.

The brewing will take place mere metres away from the taps.

Situated in Thornbury's far eastern industrial pocket you'll find the entire 3 Ravens range on tap plus beers from WA sister company Mash Brewing.

There's limited release bottled stuff such as 3 Ravens' barrel-aged brews (which spend time getting complex and funky in wine and whisky barrels), as well as craft spirits and a small local wine offering.

Hungry? Of course you are. Honouring the age-old connection between beer and blokey snacks, the bar plays host to a rotating roster of food trucks (think Fancy Hanks, Taco Truck, Smokin' Barry's) with a different one rolling up outside each night.

Open Wed 3pm-late; Fri 3pm-late; Sat noon-late.
