Manly has received a big dose of superfood that's good for both health and charity.

Bare Naked Bowls specialises in superfood smoothies, acai and breakfast bowls, organic coffee, cold-pressed juices, kombucha and healthy ready-to-go treats.

Ten cents of every dollar spent in store will go towards owner Josh Porteous' charity, The International Brothers & Sisters House, that assists orphan children in Cambodia, Nepal and Tanzania.

"I left the corporate world back in 2012 and I went on a mission around Asia and Africa for about 12-and-a-half months," Porteous says. "In that time I founded my charity and met my wife in Tanzania."

Not long after that, both Porteous and his wife Ashley became severely ill with bacterial infections and when they recovered, Ashley became pregnant.

"I had this idea of a sustainable business model that will support our family plus support the charity," Josh says.

"The whole organic superfood idea came from getting so sick overseas and thinking, 'What sorts of bacterias can you put in your body that will particularly help your digestive system?'"

The couple hope to bring "a uniqueness to a cluttered cafe culture" by creating seven types of acai bowls, which will have a range of different superfoods, fruits and powders.

The Manly bowl is blended with acai, banana, strawberry, apple juice and honey and topped with granola, banana, strawberry, blueberry, goji berry, bee pollen and honey.

There will also be some "bizarre" smoothies, such as a pineapple hemp number, with pineapple, banana, spinach, mint, lime, coconut oil, hemp seeds, coconut water, RAW-brand green powder and honey.

Market Lane, Manly, 0477 014 068, open daily 6.30am-3.30pm.
