The cafe at South Curl Curl Lifesaving Club is under new management.

The coffee aficionados from Belaroma Coffee Roasting Company have moved in, serving affogatos alongside Paddle Pops at their new Gusto on the Beach cafe.

The cafe is the flagship for Belaroma's Gusto blend, and the second Sydney cafe for the company. (The first was the Belaroma Coffee Centre at their Manly Vale HQ.)

"We wanted to use it to showcase the blend," Belaroma's Simone Ruskin says of the new venture.

While there are three Gusto blends roasted on site at Manly Vale - Mañana, Arleccino and Salida del Sol - the cafe is only serving Mañana for now.

So far the most popular coffees are full-fat cappuccinos and flat whites, Ruskin says.

Those popping in after a swim or a morning of nippers can still expect to get a feed.

The toasted "wee bit seedy" muesli with blended acai berry and summer fruits is the breakfast menu's biggest seller but Ruskin says the morning's clientele (mostly joggers and commuters) tend to be after a caffeine hit.

"People tend to come in for coffee in the morning but at lunch it's more about the food," she says.

The lunch menu stars their popular pulled pork burger but cous cous salads and a range of wraps and sandwiches are also available.

Diners can eat inside, on the verandah or picnic on the beach. All menu items are available for take away.

If you're after something cold and sweet, like any good surf club cafe Gusto also does shakes and smoothies (including the show-stopping breakfast smoothie, with soy milk, yoghurt, rolled oats, chia seeds, banana, cinnamon, honey and a shot of coffee).

Or you could always just pick up a Paddle Pop.
