BrodDogs, one of Canberra's biggest food destinations, has finally launched in Sydney after a long and patient wait. Its little red caravan has opened at Westfield Chatswood's new food hub on Charlotte Lane and offers punters top-notch gourmet hot dogs made to order.

Established in Canberra in February 2014, BrodDogs is the brainchild and second food venture of Sascha Brodbeck and Joelle Bou-Jaoude. The duo are something of an institution in the nation's capital after founding the highly successful restaurant BrodBurger.

"I love seeing people eat my food and coming back time and time again to experience it," says Brodbeck. "BrodDogs and BrodBurger are so popular in Canberra now that people come from all around Australia to try our food, so we wanted to share the love and bring BrodDogs to Sydney."

"I design all the menus and hand-pick every ingredient. I also worked with a baker on the bread so it's light, fresh and perfectly complements the toppings. I think it is what sets our dogs apart from the rest."

BrodDogs offers eight styles of hot dogs (or "pup dogs" for smaller eaters). The menu includes the Chilli Cheese dog packed with your choice of sausage (Vienna, spicy or beef frankfurt), slow-cooked beef chilli, cheese fondue, corn relish and shaved gruyere ($10.50) and the New Yorker dog laden with sauerkraut, triple-smoked pork belly, corn relish and mustard ($9.50).

There's also a variety of "loaded" chilli and cheese chips and fried cauliflower popcorn with fondue, gruyere and sweet potato ribbons ($6).
