Look out residents of Pennant Hills, the Charlotte Cafe brand has expanded into your leafy suburb, with the arrival of Charlotte's Little Sister cafe.

The new venue already has two big siblings - Charlotte Cafe in Birchgrove and Charlotte's Little Sister in Manly.

Expected to become the next coffee hot spot for local residents, Charlotte's Little Sister set up shop earlier this month on the border of Harris Farm Market in Pennant Hills Marketplace.

Coffee connoisseur Jason Ghebar founded the Charlotte brand after the 2007 financial crisis when he lost his job as a jeweller, with the chain named after the daughter of his business partner.

"I started Charlotte about eight years ago in Birchgrove and it just went bonkers – people really loved the offerings and the service and we had a sense of community."

From superior blend Campos Coffee to all-day breakfast, daily sandwiches, house-made wraps and seasonal salads, Charlotte combines delicious home-style food with Ghebar's Mediterranean influence. But the Pennant Hills sibling is different.

"It's a hybrid of the Manly and Birchgrove cafes," Ghebar says. "There's a bit more, we bake our own bread there because of the communal kitchen with Harris Farm, we don't do a lot of sit-down breakfast type things – we do corn fritters and really good sandwiches like tuna, pear and wasabi."

The interior features a striking spotted gum ceiling alongside bold shapes, geometric patterns and decorative floral elements.

"The cafes are either very rustic or old or not [in] fashion, so we wanted to bring a bit of Surry Hills to Pennant Hills and that's how the locals see it," Ghebar says.

The Pennant Hills cafe isn't Ghebar's last, however. Lower north shore and inner-city residents can expect the opening of Baby Charlotte in Mosman, and another Charlotte's Little Sister at the Australian Technology Park.

Ghebar also has another three cafes in the pipeline. "If you're asking me if there's more hunger in the belly, yes there is."
