A 150-seat Italian dining room called Chiara is the latest eatery to open at Collins Square, joining Spanish diner Bar Nacional and cafe Long Shot at the development at the Docklands end of Collins Street.

All three are part of the Walker Evans Baker Restaurant Group, a collaboration between developer Lang Walker and chefs Pete Evans and Gavin Baker. Baker calls the concept ''contemporary Italian''.

They've appointed as head chef George Fowler, most recently at London's Pollen Street Social, and Zach Bacon, formerly of now-closed Mama Baba in South Yarra, to run front-of-house. Open Monday to Friday from 10am to 10pm.

Details: 705A Collins Street, Melbourne, 9252 7909, chiara.net.au.
