Lee Ho Fook was the hottest restaurant in town before it even opened its doors last week. It's an all-star cast with restaurateurs Peter Bartholomew and David Mackintosh - the pair behind MoVida and Pei Modern - and in the kitchen is Sydney chef Victor Liong, who has worked at Marque and Mr Wong.

Mackintosh describes the food as "funky new-style Chinese" with dishes such as ''milk bun, candied pork, pork floss and salted cucumber'', ''white cut chicken, pig's ears, cucumber sesame and ginger'', and Shandong-style crispy skin chicken.

There's a small bar area alongside the 40-seater dining room and a wine list that offers "everything from Bin 389 to the quirky white wines of the Jura'', Mackintosh says. And guess what? Lee Ho Fook takes bookings. Welcome aboard.
