You'll find Mountain of Bears cafe in an arcade alongside Ormond train station and a few doors down from Jimmy Grants. It's fresh yet familiar, with recycled timber tables and benches, industrial miners' lights, concrete, and a subway tiled kitchen. Something you don't see every day though are old pinball machine lightboxes mounted to the walls. It's fitting for a cafe in an arcade to feature arcade games.

New York Bagels are the bedrock of the all-day menu – much like the owners' city cafe Manchester Press (which they sold recently). Bagels are toasted and served with a Mason jar of salmon rillettes. They're served simply, with peanut butter and sides of banana and ricotta, and they're stuffed, with pastrami, fresh salad and horseradish mayo.

Large, bright salads are spiked with healthy additions, such as goji berries, and topped with folds of smoked salmon and a poached egg. It's healthy, generous stuff.
