Saint Urban, the bistro and wine bar by the team from Punch Lane, opened on Monday. It is named after Saint Urban, who was Bishop of Langres in France during the 4th century and, arguably, more importantly, a patron saint of wine. Punch Lane owner Martin Pirc has gone into business with his head chef Daniel Schelbert, and Schelbert's partner and front-of-house manager Pia Tatjana-Tukiainen on the venue he describes as a place "for a coffee, a drink, a snack, or a meal".

Arched windows overlook Swan Street, and worn woods and handmade blue tiles add warmth to the small 55-seater dining room. The simple bistro menu includes a changing list of charcuterie and cheeses, alongside other snacks such as oysters and croquettes. The kitchen's char-grill will be running hot, cooking whole fish and bavette steaks, with harissa.

Saint Urban is open from 3pm Tuesday to Thursday, for lunch and dinner on Friday and from 11am until late on weekends.
