Pop-up food precinct Swan Street Chamber of Commerce has swung open its doors in Richmond, and with an eclectic band of new and established operators on board for the year-long ride, they're giving the little guy a chance to shine.

Project curator Adam del Mastro (ex-Auction Rooms, St Ali North, Seven Seeds) describes the concept as "a unique collaborative food, culture and retail space", and says it has given entrepreneurial smaller operators a chance to experiment without the high cost and long-term commitment.

Housed in a heritage-listed former bank, the site is earmarked for conversion into a pub in 2016 by owners The Publican Group, of Campari House and Veludo fame.

For now, the space is occupied by an art gallery, an edgy record shop and an independent cinema, along with food trucks by Hammer & Tong and My Two Mums (ice-cream sandwiches), offerings from Monsieur Truffe, Rustica Sourdough and Will & Co coffee. Dedicated cereal cafe Cereal Anytime offers an all-day spread of nutritious and nostalgic breakfast faves, while upstairs you'll find a gorgeous tea "salon" by Storm in a Teacup.

Watch this space. More tenants are on the way.

Open daily from 7am.
