What was once Norths Bowlo is now The Greens. Husband-and-wife team Nathan and Lily Fasan (both ex-The Grounds of Alexandria) have injected the 125-year-old North Sydney club with nourishing food, summery cocktails and a veggie garden.

The space has huge indoor and outdoor areas catering to families during the day (you might find a petting zoo on the weekends) and locals in the evening keen for a yuzu daiquiri and a dance. With spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, The Greens is one of the best New Year's Eve tickets in town.

The unfussy menu features whole baked snapper-for-two with zucchini, mint, and coriander salad ($42), oxtail croquettes with sweet pimento sauce, and cured ocean-trout with pickled cucumbers, caper berries, quail eggs, and lemon creme fraiche ($14).

A cafe component of The Greens brews an exclusive blend of Double Roasters coffee beans that are available for purchase, along with homemade jams, chutneys, and pickled vegetables.

There's future plans to utilise a semi-paved bowling green for yoga, organic markets and movie nights. Two bowling greens remain in use and are available for social games. Sessions can be booked through event organisers Rock N Bowl.
