Being the birthplace of renowned soprano Marjorie Lawrence was the main claim to fame for Deans Marsh, nestled in the Otways hinterland between Winchelsea and Lorne. Now locals and visitors are singing the praises of The Store, recently revitalised by Dale Allender.

The menu features a range of fresh salads, like chickpea, roasted capsicum, pumpkin, beetroot, barberries and parsley, or burghul with house-grown tomatoes. House-made beef and red wine pies are some of the best around, as are pasties and sausage rolls, and lamb or pulled pork rolls with apple and fennel slaw.

Locally produced preserves, a selection of homewares and Kazbah coffee roasted at nearby Birregurra keep The Store on a high note.

Open daily 7.30am to 6.30pm.
