You know winter is around the corner when you pack away the fans and dust off your Le Creuset.

Fans of the enamel kitchenware will have even more reason to get excited as the weather cools, with Australia's first stand-alone Le Creuset store opening for business this week at 106 King Street, near the Pitt Street Mall.

The shop has been coming together in recent weeks and has a white-and-orange theme. "We were inspired by the Le Creuset store in Notting Hill [London]," a spokeswoman for the French cookware company says.

Collectors will have plenty from which to choose, with 520 products in the Le Creuset range.
