Just when you thought the longest-recorded search for a Sydney restaurant site was over, another twist has emerged.

Chef Lennox Hastie was tipped by a Fink insider to have settled on a site in the Darlinghurst-Surry Hills area, yet industry moles have spotted Hastie pacing a basement near the corner of Pitt and Angel streets in the city.

However it falls, a decision must be close. Surely?
