Get out of line and hit the phone because Mamasita, the CBD Mexican joint with the permanent stairwell queue, is now taking lunch bookings.

Mamasita co-owner and operations manager Matt Lane says customer feedback has prompted them to trial taking reservations for two lunch sittings on Monday to Friday - noon and staggered from 1pm - with tables still available for walk-ins.

If successful, lunch bookings will become a fixture next year. The trial is tipped to be part of expansion plans but Lane is remaining tight-lipped.
