Markov distinction

Nip and tuck: Markov Place becomes Markov.Michael Clayton-Jones

Carlton bar and restaurant Markov Place has reopened after a nip and tuck, and is now simply called Markov. Co-owner Guy David says his aim was to bring the bar and dining room closer together.

In doing so he has made the dining room "way more casual", relaxing the food offering and taking away table service. David says: "How people eat has changed; they want something casual and easy." Ten beer taps have been installed and will serve local and imported craft beers. Markov, in Drummond Street, is open Tuesday to Sunday for dinner and for Friday lunch.
