Martin Place gets a pop-up GPO Dessert Bar

Pop-ups have populated Sydney faster than parking meters, but there has been at least one no-go area for the temporary food venues. Until now.

"This is the first pop-up on Martin Place," says Peter Petroulas, who has opened GPO Dessert Bar, a festive season spin-off to his GPO stable of restaurants. What started with a conversation with City officials about families visiting the Christmas tree at Martin Place, then quickly clearing off because of a lack of entertainment, led to the pop-up and a daily choir in the run-up to Christmas.
