Serial restaurateur Paul Mathis will close his South Wharf restaurant, Sharing House, on February 10, and reopen it early March as a "super traditional Thai street food" spot. Mark Briggs, The Age Good Food Guide young chef of the year, has resigned as chef, saying "it's time for a change". Mathis says: ''It's not the Sharing House without Mark, so I'm changing the concept.'' The new chef is Thai and currently cooking at Mathis' Hawthorn East pizzeria Firechief. Names in the works for South Wharf include Bangpop or Chilli Chilli Bang Bang. Mathis invites Twitter feedback @paulmathismelb.
