As summer heats up, the Museum of Contemporary Art will help Sydneysiders cool off with the opening of a pop-up gin garden overlooking Sydney Harbour.

It will offer cocktail and gin enthusiasts a chance to work their way through a list of artisan crafted spirits produced by local distillery Archie Rose. However, if cocktails aren't your drink of choice, Sydney's own internationally awarded beer brewers, Young Henrys, will also be stocking the bar.

The launch of the gin garden will coincide with the exhibition of works by Turner Prize-winning artist Grayson Perry. Grayson Perry: My Pretty Little Art Career will be the first major showing of Perry's work in the southern hemisphere and opens in early December as part of the Sydney International Art Series.

"Our Grayson Perry-inspired gin garden will be a wonderful spot to enjoy a post-exhibition tipple, have a great conversation about contemporary art and make the most of Sydney's balmy summer evenings," says MCA director Elizabeth Ann Macgregor.

The pop-up garden itself will spring to life on Friday, December 4, until February 14, and be open Thursday to Sunday, 4pm till late.
