If you're a Macca's breakfast lover but not an early riser, this one's for you.

McDonald's Australia has been trialling an all day breakfast menu at certain stores in Wollongong since July 1.

Meghann Sinclair, Corporate Communications Manager for McDonald's Australia, says the trial has received "overwhelmingly positive feedback", and will extend to selected Gold Coast outlets from July 29.

The trial has launched off the back of consumer demand. The existing breakfast menu is only available until 10.30am.

"We are always listening and taking on feedback from our customers and All Day Breakfast was one that people are always asking of us," says Sinclair.

A trial is also underway at various McDonald's restaurants in the US with the company announcing that all-day breakfast was the number one request from customers. It is believed to be an attempt to curb further decline in the fast food giant's popularity.

The trial approach might be due to tight kitchen spaces, with McDonald's tweeting in February that they do not serve breakfast all day because the grills "just aren't big enough for breakfast and lunch."

The Wollongong stores are serving egg McMuffins with either sausage or bacon, hash browns and hotcakes on their all-day menu.

There is currently no end date for the trials.

"If All Day Breakfast continues to be well received, McDonald's Australia will look at rolling it out nationally," Sinclair says.
